This morning we shared the news with our employees that we are combining our Honeywell Security Group (HSG) and Honeywell Fire Safety (HFS) businesses to form the new Honeywell Security and Fire (HSF) business unit within Honeywell Automation & Control Solutions (ACS).
This is an exciting opportunity for Honeywell and our customers and I am proud to have the opportunity to lead this terrific team. I have been with Honeywell for 12 years, most recently as President of HSG, and have extensive business, operations and marketing experience with Honeywell Transportation Systems.
The creation of this new business unit underscores our continued commitment to strengthen the depth of our technology and product offerings. These businesses are a natural fit because of their shared long legacy of life-saving innovation that has made them leaders in the industry. Importantly, our Honeywell Sales leaders within the legacy HSG and HFS businesses will remain in place to ensure continued focus on your success. I am grateful to be working closely with Gary Lederer, President of Honeywell Fire Safety. Gary, who has worked in the life safety industry for 27 years, will work on projects supporting the integration of the businesses until 2016, when he plans to retire. I thank him for his leadership and the terrific legacy he leaves in the Fire business. We anticipate this integration will be completed by the second quarter of 2016, and we are committed to supporting our customers with the same level of reliable and quality products, service and delivery throughout this process, with a focus on transparency and open communication.
